I think the Royal Hospital is great and so beautiful. Lockdown has been a period of reflection and has made me think we donвЂ™t make time to enjoy things вЂ“ weвЂ™re always rushing around.ДЄlthough itвЂ™s a generation and a way of life we donвЂ™t see much, itвЂ™s not stuck in the past though, itвЂ™s very much now. The song for the Royal Hospital has been PeterвЂ™s only recording during the lockdown period and one that heвЂ™s loved doing: вЂњI hope people will listen and give to the PensionersвЂќ We donвЂ™t look after ourselves from that point of view.вЂќ ThatвЂ™s what I like about the Chelsea Pensioners. вЂњI enjoyed it immensely, it almost happened organically. I hope I can come and sing outside for them too, when lockdown has lifted.вЂќ I really hope people will listen to The White CliffsВ and give to the Chelsea Pensioners, even if itвЂ™s just a pound.

I want to send this personal message of thanks to all our veterans and recognise the sacrifices they and their comrades made in World War 2 and since.
